Meet the team

BenDirector

Hailing from Berkshire, director Ben Wicks has created numerous award winning short films, music videos and more recently television pilots & concept reels along with a multitude of commercials and promos for some of the country biggest companies and institutions. His recent television pilot work has led to two of his projects currently being under consideration for commission.

Not wishing to be boxed into a certain genre, Ben's recent short films have included a comedy, thriller and more recently a musical drama. His 2014 short film, Snapshot, was backed by Alzheimer's Research UK and his recent musical drama, The Secret, set in 1943, is also being considered as a theatre show. Ben directed the award winning prequel to The Adventurer's Diary, Tides, in late 2017.

Away from directing short film and the like, Ben works in in the AD department for film and television, having worked for Sky, BBC and Amazon to name but a few!

CinematographerLaura Gallop

Laura Gallop is a Cornish cinematographer, whose strong belief is that cinematography should add to a story on an unconscious level, rather than overpower it. She draws on her combined backgrounds in art, lighting and photography, and uses these to influence her work as a cinematographer. Laura has a large portfolio of shorts, commercials and music promos under her belt.

Short StopThe screenplay was a 2nd Place Winner in the Short Stop International Film Festival (2018).

The screenplay reviewer said:

'A story such as this, is capable of making people feel happy and sad with the same scene just by introducing a single new element later on is well written, and it doesn't stop there.

In short this is a story that follows an intriguing character going through difficult times and showing real progress as the story goes along, changing tangibly and, arguably, in a positive way. It is filled with symbolism and good lessons, and manages to be deep beyond the limits of what its short length would suggest. Definitely, it is worth a reading...'
